Marrakech police located the 45-year-old French national on Tuesday, September 22, after a post circulating on social media reported him missing under suspicious circumstances during a stay in Morocco. The post also said the man had a disability.
Police searches and investigations led to the tourist being found at the emergency department of a local hospital. He had gone there on his own to obtain medication prescribed abroad to treat a medical condition.
He was later handed over to one of the people traveling with him. Marrakech police said there was nothing criminal about the circumstances of his disappearance.
The police also stressed that they remain committed to responding seriously and constructively to security-related issues reported by the media.
