A fire tore through several shops at Al Quds Market in Tiznit early Friday, leaving traders with significant material losses but causing no casualties.
The blaze broke out in shops on the ground floor of the commercial complex, according to a Le360 source. Civil Protection teams were called in at around 1am, with residents and traders also helping as efforts got under way to contain the flames.

Firefighters managed to extinguish the blaze before it reached the first floor or spread to other shops in the complex.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known. An investigation is expected to establish how it started and determine the extent of the damage.
