Yassir Zabiri joined Racing Santander this summer in an attempt to restart his Liga career. The match will take place on Sunday, August 16, at 4 p.m. at El Sardinero Stadium.
Zabiri will therefore make his first appearance in Spain’s LaLiga against a team that finished third in the previous league campaign, 14 points behind the runners-up, Real Madrid.

The 21-year-old forward is on loan to Racing from Stade Rennais. Zabiri joined Rennes after an outstanding U-20 World Cup in Chile with Morocco. The Atlas Lions won the tournament, and Zabiri finished as the joint top scorer with five goals. However, he ultimately failed to follow the expected trajectory at Rennes.
Over several months, the 21-year-old Moroccan made just 42 minutes of appearances for Rennes. He now begins an entirely new chapter in Spain, in a league that may be better suited to his abilities.
