Smart speed cameras and surveillance cameras are being installed along Dakhla’s main roads. Deployed by the municipality in partnership with several stakeholders, including the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), the new system aims to strengthen road safety, improve traffic monitoring, and reduce traffic violations.

From July 18 to 22, the Consulate of Côte d’Ivoire in Laayoune is conducting a special operation to issue and renew biometric passports for members of its community. A technical team from Abidjan has traveled to the city to facilitate administrative procedures for around 150 nationals. The initiative has been welcomed by the Ivorian diaspora, which numbers nearly 12,000 people across Morocco’s southern provinces.

Dakhla is undergoing a major urban transformation, with several projects currently underway across different neighborhoods to modernize infrastructure, improve residents’ quality of life and strengthen the tourist and economic appeal of the capital of the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region.
