Boat carrying 201 migrants intercepted south of Dakhla

A Royal Navy unit intercepted a traditional boat carrying 201 irregular migrants about 185 kilometers southwest of Dakhla on Saturday as they attempted to reach the Canary Islands, according to the General Command of the Royal Armed Forces.

According to a statement from the General Command of the Royal Armed Forces, the rescued individuals were safely transferred to the fishing village of Rok Chiko, located 190 kilometers southwest of Dakhla, after receiving the necessary first aid aboard the naval unit.

They were subsequently handed over to the Royal Gendarmerie to undergo the administrative procedures applicable in such operations.
