According to a security source, the two were arrested following an incident involving a delivery order received by a delivery worker at a luxury residential complex in the Prestigia tourist area, where the suspects paid for the order in foreign currency.

After the delivery worker went to a bank branch to exchange the banknote, verification revealed that it was counterfeit. The relevant security services were notified and launched an investigation into the incident.

Acting on instructions from the public prosecutor’s office at the Marrakech Court of First Instance, police officers went to the suspects’ home, where they arrested them and took them to the security district headquarters for further questioning and to establish the circumstances and details of the case.

The two suspects were placed in police custody pending the completion of the investigation and their referral to the competent public prosecutor’s office for the necessary legal proceedings.
