According to a security source, the suspect was arrested in Oujda after a database check revealed that he was wanted internationally under an Interpol Red Notice issued at the request of the National Central Bureau in The Hague. He is suspected of involvement in a case involving drug trafficking, unlawful detention and acts of violence committed as part of the activities of a criminal network.

A search carried out as part of the operation led to the seizure of a quantity of cannabis resin in the suspect’s possession. He was placed in police custody pending the judicial investigation into drug possession, which is being conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office.

Meanwhile, the National Central Bureau (Interpol Rabat), operating under Morocco’s General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), has been tasked with notifying its counterpart in the Netherlands of the suspect’s arrest.

The arrest forms part of Morocco’s ongoing efforts to strengthen international security cooperation, particularly in tracking down and arresting individuals wanted internationally in connection with transnational crime.
