The Swedish police chief praised security cooperation with Morocco after a Swedish national wanted over suspected involvement in several violent crime cases was arrested in the Kingdom.

A 22-year-old Swedish national wanted under an international arrest warrant issued by the judicial authorities in his country over his involvement in an attempted murder case was arrested in Tangier on Wednesday, September 16, Morocco’s General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) said in a statement.

Tangier police arrested a 28-year-old Danish national of Israeli origin wanted under an international arrest warrant issued by Danish authorities. The suspect, described as one of Scandinavia’s most wanted fugitives, is sought in connection with alleged drug trafficking, murder, kidnapping and violent unlawful detention.

The arrest follows an international wanted notice issued by Swedish authorities in connection with alleged drug trafficking and illegal firearms possession.

Moroccan police in Marrakech have arrested a 34-year-old French national wanted under an Interpol Red Notice over suspected links to a criminal network allegedly involved in drug trafficking between Spain and France.
