Officers from the judicial police under the Tangier Police Prefecture arrested a 29-year-old French national on Saturday, August 1. He was the subject of an international arrest warrant issued by the French judicial authorities on charges of voluntary homicide.
The suspect was apprehended in the city of Tangier. A check of his identity against security databases revealed that he was being actively sought internationally under an Interpol Red Notice issued at the request of the National Central Bureau in Paris, on suspicion of involvement in a voluntary homicide case.
According to the preliminary findings of the investigation, the suspect is accused of fatally shooting a person in September 2024 on a public street in the French city of Toulouse. He has been placed under extradition proceedings in accordance with instructions from the competent public prosecutor’s office.

The National Central Bureau in Rabat, which operates under the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) as Morocco’s Interpol office, has been tasked with notifying its French counterpart of the arrest as part of the extradition process.
The arrest is part of Morocco’s ongoing commitment to activating international security cooperation mechanisms, particularly in tracking down and arresting individuals wanted internationally in transnational crime cases.
