According to a security source, the man was arrested in Marrakech. A check of his details against the database of the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) showed that he was wanted internationally under a Red Notice issued at the request of the French National Central Bureau in Paris, on suspicion of links to a criminal network involved in the international trafficking of drugs between Spain and France.
The foreign national was placed in police custody on the instructions of the competent public prosecutor’s office. Meanwhile, the Rabat Interpol National Central Bureau, which operates under Morocco’s National Security Directorate (DGSN), was tasked with notifying its French counterpart of the arrest pending extradition proceedings.
