Morocco to Celebrate Eid Al Mawlid Annabaoui on Aug. 25

Eid Al Mawlid Annabaoui, marking the birth of the Prophet Muhammad, will be celebrated in Morocco on Tuesday, Aug. 25, the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs announced. The Islamic month of Rabie-I 1448 will begin Friday, Aug. 14.

Morocco will celebrate Eid Al Mawlid Annabaoui on Tuesday, Aug. 25, the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs announced Thursday evening.

In a statement, the ministry said the sighting of the crescent moon marking the beginning of Rabie-I 1448 in the Islamic calendar was confirmed on the evening of Thursday, Aug. 13, corresponding to 29 Safar 1448.

The month of Safar will therefore have 29 days, with the first day of Rabie-I falling on Friday, Aug. 14.

Eid Al Mawlid Annabaoui, which commemorates the birth of the Prophet Muhammad, will consequently be observed on Tuesday, Aug. 25, the ministry said.
