Morocco’s Atlas Lionesses held a training session at the Mohammed VI Football Complex on Wednesday, continuing their preparations for the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations quarterfinal against South Africa.
Jorge Vilda’s side will face Banyana Banyana on Saturday, August 8, at Moulay El Hassan Stadium in Rabat, with a spot in the semifinals at stake.
All players selected for the continental tournament participated in the session, which began indoors with strength and cardio exercises before moving to the pitch for ball drills.
Morocco topped Group A with seven points, one ahead of second-placed Algeria, after defeating Kenya (4-0) and Algeria (1-0), and then drawing goalless with Senegal.
The four semifinalists will automatically qualify for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil. Teams eliminated in the quarterfinals will compete in intercontinental playoffs for a chance to qualify.
