Morocco made a strong start to the 2026 Africa Futsal Cup of Nations, defeating Algeria 4-0 on Monday, October 12, at the indoor arena of the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex in Rabat.
Hicham Dguig’s men secured all three points in their opening Group A match against Algeria, playing in front of a large crowd that included Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) president Fouzi Lekjaa and national team coach Mohamed Ouahbi.
The Atlas Lions took control from the opening whistle, as Younes M’Kasri and Younes Jaouda scored Morocco’s first two goals in the first half to give the defending champions a comfortable lead at halftime.
Morocco continued to dominate after the break, with Youssef Jaouad adding a third goal just minutes into the second half.
The Moroccan No. 8 struck again to complete his brace and make it 4-0 against Algeria.
Algeria, meanwhile, created little danger in front of Morocco’s goal, largely adopting a defensive approach.
The victory puts Morocco at the top of Group A, level on points with Zambia, who defeated Libya 3-1.
