Rabat will host the 2026 finals of the Longines Global Champions Tour (LGCT) and Global Champions League (GCL) in show jumping from October 30 to November 1.

This year’s edition holds particular significance for the circuit as it celebrates two decades of existence. Founded in 2006 by former Dutch Olympic champion Jan Tops, the Longines Global Champions Tour was created with the ambition of taking show jumping to a new international level by bringing together the world’s top riders and horses and taking the sport to some of the world’s most iconic destinations, organizers said in a statement.

After making history in 2024 as the first African city to host the LGCT, and then confirming its place on the international calendar in 2025, Rabat is set to welcome the prestigious circuit for a third consecutive year.

As in previous editions, the competition will take place in a specially designed equestrian village on a 5.5-hectare site in the heart of Rabat, between Hassan Tower, the Royal Theatre of Rabat and Mohammed VI Tower. The setting combines the demands of top-level equestrian competition with the architectural and urban heritage of the capital.

Alongside the competitions, the three-day event will feature a cultural program showcasing different expressions of heritage and artistic creation. A themed village, musical and artistic activities, as well as national and international equestrian shows, will complement the sporting program, according to the statement.

The Global Champions League final, scheduled for Friday, October 30, will determine the season’s team champion, while the Longines Global Champions Tour final on Sunday, November 1 will crown the 2026 individual champion.

The LGCT’s return to Rabat for a third consecutive year also reflects Morocco’s ability to host major international sporting events and meet the organizational demands of top-level equestrian competitions.

The event is part of Morocco’s deeply rooted equestrian tradition and heritage. From Tbourida to different forms of equestrian arts, as well as horse breeding and the promotion of national breeds, horses hold a unique place in the Kingdom’s culture.

Morocco also hosts several major international equestrian events each year, including the El Jadida Horse Show, Horse Week in Dar Es-Salam and the Morocco Royal Tour. The involvement of national institutions and industry stakeholders, notably with the support of the Royal Moroccan Federation of Equestrian Sports (FRMSE), has helped build recognized expertise in organizing competitions that meet international standards.
