Morocco begins enforcing VAT on Netflix, ChatGPT and other foreign digital services
Morocco has launched a new tax system requiring foreign providers of digital services, including platforms such as Netflix, ChatGPT and Spotify, to collect and remit a 20% value-added tax (VAT) on services sold to Moroccan consumers. The measure is being implemented through a dedicated platform developed by the General Directorate of Taxes (DGI).
