Achraf Hakimi has opened up about the difficulties he faced following Lionel Messi’s arrival at Paris Saint-Germain in 2021. The Morocco captain and PSG right-back explained that the Argentine forward’s presence changed the team’s playing style, making it harder for him to perform at his best.

Paris Saint-Germain are already considering another contract extension for Achraf Hakimi, even though the Moroccan international is tied to the club until June 2029. However, the Atlas Lions captain and his representatives are in no rush to open negotiations, according to French sports daily L’Équipe.

Achraf Hakimi scored three goals and provided two assists in Paris Saint-Germain’s 5-1 win over Le Havre on Friday. The performance drew high praise from Luis Enrique, who described the Moroccan international as the best right-back in the world and said he plays more like an attacker.

Morocco international and Panathinaikos midfielder Azzedine Ounahi underwent successful surgery on Thursday, October 29, the Greek club announced. Morocco captain Achraf Hakimi was by his side following the operation.

The two European clubs have reportedly been tracking the Real Betis winger for several months, with his release clause said to stand at €60 million.
