PSG coach Luis Enrique praised Achraf Hakimi after the Moroccan international scored a hat-trick in Friday night’s 5-1 victory over Le Havre, describing him as “more of an attacker than a defender.”

“We know his qualities perfectly. He is more of an attacker who plays higher up the pitch. He has the ability to make runs and deliver assists,” the Spanish coach said at a press conference after the match.

Enrique called the Atlas Lions captain the best right-back in the world, adding that he was “not particularly excited to see him score three goals.”

“What I like is seeing him consistently perform at the highest level, always ready. That means a lot to our team,” he added.

Hakimi was involved in all five of PSG’s goals against Le Havre, delivering a decisive performance as the French champions strengthened their position at the top of the Ligue 1 standings.

The Parisian club also secured its ninth consecutive win in all competitions, maintaining its lead in the French top flight.

PSG first responded to Le Havre’s opening goal through Mika Godts, who converted a superb pass from Hakimi in the 22nd minute. Four minutes later, Hakimi put his side ahead with a shot into the near post.

He extended PSG’s lead in the 55th minute with a superb right-footed curling free kick from just outside the penalty area.

After setting up Senny Mayulu for the fourth goal in the 62nd minute, the PSG captain completed a rapid counterattack initiated by Godts to score the first hat-trick of his career in the 70th minute.

With 127 wins in official matches for PSG, Luis Enrique also set a new club record against Le Havre, surpassing the previous mark he shared with Laurent Blanc.
