Noussair Mazraoui has left the Morocco national team camp and returned to Manchester, where he will continue treatment for an injury sustained during the second matchday of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Lesotho last Tuesday.

The defender will therefore miss Sunday’s friendly against Mali at the Grand Stadium in Tangier. The Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) announced that Mazraoui had left the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Maâmora to return to Manchester, where he will continue his treatment.

Mazraoui scored in Morocco’s opening 2027 AFCON qualifier against Gabon, which ended in a 2-0 victory, before picking up an injury during the second matchday against Lesotho last Tuesday, a game Morocco won 2-0. He was replaced late in the match by Achraf Hakimi.
