The Mali national team arrived at Tangier-Ibn Battouta Airport on Thursday, October 1, after a flight of more than three hours from Monrovia, the capital of Liberia.
Anthony Da Silva’s players are in Morocco ahead of their October 4 friendly against the Atlas Lions at the Grand Stadium in Tangier, with their first training session scheduled for Thursday at 18:00 at the stadium’s training facility.
Mali were initially scheduled to face Tunisia in a friendly before that match was canceled. Morocco, meanwhile, were originally due to play Ghana before a change of plans led to the meeting with Mali being arranged instead.
Morocco head into the match on the back of two victories during the current international break, beating Gabon 2-0 and Lesotho 2-0 in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
