Applications are now open for the 57th edition of the Prix du Maroc du Livre. The Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication, through its Culture Department, launched the call for applications on Monday, October 5, for the national award, which recognizes Moroccan literary and intellectual production each year.
Nine categories are open for competition: poetry, narrative, humanities, social sciences, literary, artistic and linguistic studies, translation, Amazigh literature, studies in the field of Amazigh culture, and literature for children and young adults.
The competition is open to Moroccan writers, poets, critics, researchers, thinkers and translators. Submitted works must have been published in Morocco or abroad as a first edition during 2025. They may be written in Arabic, Amazigh, Hassani or foreign languages, and must have been legally deposited.
The regulations set out several restrictions. Works written by more than two authors are not eligible. Candidates who have previously won the Prix du Maroc du Livre are also excluded until three years have passed from the year in which they received the award.
Applications can be sent or submitted, against a receipt, from October 5 to 31, 2026, to the registry office of the Directorate of Books, Libraries and Archives at 17 Avenue Michlifen, Agdal, Rabat.
