Gold prices slipped on Thursday, remaining close to a one-week low after falling to their weakest level since the beginning of the month in the previous trading session.
Spot gold fell 0.4% to $4,060.46 per ounce, following Wednesday’s decline to its lowest level since early July.
U.S. gold futures for August delivery also eased, falling 0.3% to $4,069.80 per ounce.
Elsewhere in precious metals, spot silver dropped 0.9% to $57.77 per ounce.
Platinum bucked the trend, rising 0.8% to $1,591.13 per ounce, while palladium also gained 0.8% to $1,223.95 per ounce.
