Israeli airline Arkia will resume direct flights between Tel Aviv and Marrakech on Aug. 24, restoring a route that has been suspended for nearly three years.

The airline announced that it will operate the service twice a week, on Mondays and Wednesdays, using Airbus A320 aircraft.

The route will connect Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion Airport with Marrakech Menara Airport.

In a post announcing the route’s return, Arkia described Marrakech as “a city of colors, markets, flavors, magical riads, the desert, and an atmosphere that cannot be described in words.”

The airline said one-way fares will start at $329.

Arkia also reminded Israeli passport holders that they must obtain a visa before entering Morocco and advised travelers to apply well in advance of their departure.

Arkia is Israel’s second-largest airline after El Al, with which it maintains cross-shareholdings. The carrier operates scheduled domestic and international flights as well as charter services, with an extensive network across Europe.
