The National Central Bureau (Interpol Rabat) processed over 7,100 requests in 2025, demonstrating a high level of international police cooperation, according to the latest edition of the Revue de Police published by Morocco’s General Directorate of National Security (DGSN).
The bureau’s activities resulted in the recovery of 395 stolen vehicles, the execution of 36 international extraditions, and the arrest of 57 fugitives wanted abroad, the publication stated.
Interpol Rabat also coordinated cooperation in 2,307 cases involving the international trafficking of stolen vehicles, monitored 120 international letters rogatory, and circulated 127 international arrest warrants.
Additionally, the bureau issued 3,173 national wanted notices at the request of foreign law enforcement agencies and Interpol Red Notices, published 381 wanted notices from Arab countries, and circulated 858 notices canceling international wanted alerts and 1,016 notices canceling wanted alerts issued at the Arab level.
The publication also highlighted Morocco’s achievements in 2024, when “135 internationally wanted suspects from 25 different nationalities were arrested on Moroccan territory, highlighting extensive and effective judicial cooperation.”
The Revue de Police recalled that Morocco joined the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) in 1957, just one year after the DGSN’s creation, noting that “international cooperation has been part of the institution’s approach since its early years.”
That cooperation has expanded significantly in recent years. In November 2024, during Interpol’s 92nd General Assembly in Glasgow, Morocco was elected the organization’s Vice President for Africa, with Director of the Judicial Police Mohammed Dkhissi receiving support from 96 member countries.
A year later, in November 2025, Morocco hosted Interpol’s 93rd General Assembly in Marrakech, bringing together police chiefs from 196 countries in what the publication described as an unprecedented event reflecting the DGSN’s growing international role within the organization.
Longstanding cooperation with Interpol
Former Interpol President Major General Ahmed Naser Al-Raisi noted that Morocco’s ties with the International Criminal Police Organization span more than seven decades and are characterized by broad cooperation.
“Morocco is a country with a strategic geographical position, linking Africa, Europe, and the Arab world. These essential bridges represent a great hope for us to strengthen security, not only in the region but also globally,” he said.
“The presence of the Vice President for Africa, Mohammed Dkhissi, constitutes a very important contribution to the organization, whether in supporting the African continent and its member countries or in strengthening the organization’s role at the global level,” Al-Raisi had previously stated in a press statement on the eve of Interpol’s General Assembly.
