Fouzi Lekjaa is preparing to take a new step in his political career. One of the government’s most influential figures and a central architect of Morocco’s budgetary policy and football development, the delegate minister for the budget is set to join the Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM), a party source confirmed to Le360.
The move brings months of political speculation to an end and marks the beginning of a new chapter for the senior public official. His membership is expected to be formally announced on Saturday, July 25, during the party’s National Council meeting.

Membership of the National Council provides a direct pathway to PAM’s Political Bureau. Under the party’s statutes, Lekjaa’s status as a government minister entitles him to automatic membership of the executive body. Widely regarded for his managerial discipline, technical expertise and the confidence he enjoys within state institutions, his arrival is expected to strengthen the party’s institutional standing.
Lekjaa’s entry into the party comes as PAM tightens its ranks and refines its political positioning ahead of the upcoming legislative elections. The party leadership, led by Fatima-Zahra El Mansouri, national coordinator of the collective presidency, has been methodically preparing to reinforce the party as it seeks to consolidate its position ahead of the September 23 vote.

By bringing Lekjaa into its ranks, PAM is doing more than broadening its pool of expertise. The party is also reinforcing its ability to attract some of Morocco’s leading technocratic figures, underlining its ambitions within the country’s political landscape.
