Youth Day: Royal Pardon for 667 People

On the occasion of Youth Day, King Mohammed VI has granted His pardon to 667 individuals convicted by various courts across the Kingdom, the Ministry of Justice announced in a statement.

*The beneficiaries of the Royal Pardon who are currently in detention number 526 and are divided as follows:

- 7 inmates have benefited from full pardon over the remaining prison term or confinement.

- 517 inmates had their prison terms or confinement reduced.

- 2 inmates had their life sentence commuted to a fixed-term sentence.

*The beneficiaries of the Royal Pardon who are at liberty number 141 and are divided as follows:

- 62 individuals benefited from pardon over their prison term or its remainder.

- 13 individuals had their prison terms pardoned and their fines maintained.

- 59 individuals benefited from pardon over their fines.

- 7 individuals benefited from pardon over both prison and fine sentences.

Royal pardon is customary in Morocco to mark national and religious holidays.
