Moroccan police quickly locate missing Norwegian tourist after family alert

Police in Agadir and Marrakech located the 34-year-old tourist after his family reported him missing when they lost contact with him during his holiday in Morocco.

Marrakech police received a missing person alert after a Norwegian tourist failed to board his scheduled flight home and stopped responding to calls from relatives, according to a police source.

Marrakech police immediately launched an investigation in coordination with their counterparts in Agadir. The joint operation led officers to the missing tourist, who was staying at a hotel in Agadir.

Authorities confirmed that the Norwegian national had not been harmed and that there was no indication of criminal activity related to his disappearance.

The tourist was referred to the Regional Judicial Police Service in Agadir to complete formal procedures, including notifying his family in Norway that he had been found safely.
