Workers were making final preparations on Saturday morning ahead of the tunnel’s opening ceremony. The passage is intended for healthcare staff, patients and visitors, providing a safer and more convenient way to move between the different facilities on campus.
The tunnel aims to improve traffic flow and secure access for doctors, professors, students, medical staff, patients and their companions.
The project is part of the construction of the new Ibn Sina hospital in Rabat, which is replacing the original building dating back to 1954. The area around the hospital has also been extensively redeveloped, with green spaces created around the CHU.
