Weather in Morocco: Heat persists inland as temperatures ease elsewhere

Hot to very hot weather will persist across parts of Morocco on Wednesday, with the highest temperatures expected in the northern Oriental region, the Moulouya Valley, Saïss, inland Gharb, the Tadla and Rehamna plains, Souss, Chiadma, the southeast and the eastern parts of the country’s southern provinces, according to the General Directorate of Meteorology.

Low clouds accompanied by patches of fog are forecast during the morning and overnight along the Atlantic coast and the Mediterranean shoreline.

Skies will remain partly cloudy at times over the Atlas Mountains and the far south of the country.

Moderate to occasionally strong wind gusts are expected along the central Atlantic coast and in the southern provinces.

Minimum temperatures will range from 26°C to 33°C in inland Souss and the southeast, 15°C to 21°C in the Atlas Mountains, the northern and central Atlantic plains and the western part of the southern provinces, and 24°C to 30°C elsewhere.

Daytime temperatures are forecast to rise along the Mediterranean coast and the northern Atlantic plains while easing across the rest of the country.

At sea, conditions will be calm in the Mediterranean, calm to slight in the Strait of Gibraltar, slight north of Jorf Lasfar, and slight to moderate elsewhere along the Atlantic coast.
