Fouzi Lekjaa welcomes Infantino’s decision to withdraw FIFA Forward Enterprise proposal

Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) President Fouzi Lekjaa has welcomed FIFA President Gianni Infantino’s decision to withdraw the proposed FIFA Forward Enterprise project, saying the move prioritizes unity and cohesion among the governing body’s member associations.

In a statement published Saturday on the Royal Moroccan Football Federation’s (FRMF) official website, President Fouzi Lekjaa expressed his support for FIFA President Gianni Infantino’s decision to withdraw the proposal for the FIFA Forward Enterprise project, stressing that the move helps preserve the unity of world football and safeguard the achievements of FIFA’s development programs.

“The President of the FRMF, Fouzi Lekjaa, welcomes FIFA President Gianni Infantino’s decision to withdraw the FIFA Forward Enterprise proposal. The progress achieved in recent years through FIFA’s development programs, particularly in Africa, is a valuable asset that must be preserved for the benefit of all member associations,” the FRMF said in its statement.

The federation added: “In the face of differing views over a reform, despite its importance, the unity of the global football family must come first.”

The statement further noted that “FRMF President Fouzi Lekjaa considers the FIFA President’s decision to be a wise one, as it places unity and cohesion among FIFA’s member associations at the forefront, in a participatory approach that serves the development of football.”

The FRMF concluded by stating that “Fouzi Lekjaa reaffirmed his support for FIFA President Gianni Infantino and for all initiatives aimed at advancing world football,” emphasizing that “the unity of the global football family remains the guiding principle behind every decision.”
