Atlas Lionesses captain Ghizlane Chebbak, 35, has reached the milestone of 100 appearances for Morocco’s women’s national team, becoming the first player to achieve the feat.
Fouzi Lekjaa, president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), presented her with a commemorative jersey in recognition of the landmark achievement.
The first Moroccan player to win the African Women’s Player of the Year award and a member of the FIFA FIFPRO Women’s World 11 in 2025, Chebbak is widely regarded as one of the most influential figures in the history of Moroccan women’s football.
An international since 2007, she is currently competing in her third Women’s Africa Cup of Nations. She reached the final in both the 2022 and 2024 editions, finishing as the tournament’s top scorer on each occasion and being named Best Player in 2022.
She also featured in Morocco’s first-ever FIFA Women’s World Cup campaign in 2023 in Australia and New Zealand, where the Atlas Lionesses reached the round of 16 before being eliminated by France.
A legend of AS FAR, Chebbak has won 10 Botola titles and 10 Throne Cup trophies with the club, and has been named the league’s Most Valuable Player three times.
