According to SAFA’s official website, Mosimane replaces Belgian coach Hugo Broos, whose five-year tenure with the national team has concluded.
This marks Mosimane’s second time leading South Africa, having previously managed the national team from 2010 to 2012. He subsequently enjoyed a successful club career, securing several titles, including the CAF Champions League with both Mamelodi Sundowns and Egyptian club Al Ahly.
The new coach is expected to prioritize the national team’s upcoming challenges, with the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers being a key focus.
