WAFCON: Kenyan referee Josphine Wanjiku to officiate Morocco-South Africa quarterfinal

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed Kenyan referee Josphine Wanjiku to officiate the Women’s AFCON Morocco 2026 quarterfinal between the Atlas Lionesses and the Banyana Banyana this Saturday, August 8, at Rabat’s Moulay El Hassan Stadium.

Kenyan referee Josphine Wanjiku will take charge of the Morocco-South Africa quarterfinal at the Women’s AFCON Morocco 2026 this Saturday, August 8, at Rabat’s Moulay El Hassan Stadium.

She will be assisted by Rwanda’s Alice Umutesi and fellow Kenyan Elizabeth Njoroge, while Rwandan referee Aline Umutoni will serve as the fourth official.

Nigerian Sakina Hamidou Alfa will be the reserve assistant referee, while Kenyan Peter Waweru has been appointed as the VAR official. He will be assisted by Sudanese official Abdalaziz Yasir Ahmed and Nigerian official Sadou Ali Brahamou.

Morocco-South Africa will kick off at 9 p.m. on Arryadia, the third channel of the SNRT group. The match will also be available on beIN Sports, British broadcaster Channel 4, DAZN in Europe, Ziggo, and CANAL+ in French-speaking Africa, among others.
