Rafael Nadal will return to the court in front of a crowd on October 3, taking part in an exhibition event at the Rafa Nadal Academy in his hometown of Manacor to mark the facility’s 10th anniversary.

The former world No. 1 has already been seen training on court as he prepares for the event, which will feature two teams of four players competing against each other.

Nadal retired from professional tennis in November 2024 after a career spanning more than two decades, during which he won 22 Grand Slam singles titles and established himself as one of the most successful players in the history of the sport.

The exhibition will mark his first return to the court in front of a crowd since ending his professional career, although he will be playing outside the professional circuit.

In a later announcement, British tennis legend Andy Murray was confirmed as one of the players set to participate. The three-time Grand Slam champion was one of Nadal’s notable rivals during his career, with the pair meeting 24 times on the professional tour.

Other former rivals and friends of Nadal are also expected to take part, with the remaining names set to be announced ahead of the event.
