The Atlas Lionesses resumed training on Friday at the Mohammed VI Football Complex as they began preparations for their final Group A fixture against Senegal at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
Head coach Jorge Vilda oversaw the session, which included all players selected for the tournament. The training focused primarily on recovery following the team’s victory over Algeria, while also incorporating light ball work.

Morocco secured a 1-0 win over Algeria thanks to a goal from Sanaa Mssoudy, a result that lifted the Atlas Lionesses to the top of Group A with six points.
Meryem Atiq and her teammates will face Senegal in the final round of the group stage on Monday, August 3, at the Moulay El Hassan Stadium in Rabat. Kickoff is scheduled for 9 p.m. local time, with Morocco aiming to retain first place in the group heading into the knockout stage.
