The agreement brings together the financial inclusion-focused bank and MaroApp, a Moroccan last-mile delivery and services operator whose brands include Kaalix, Livry and Livry Santé. The partnership aims to provide workers in the delivery sector with banking solutions tailored to their needs, according to a statement from Al Barid Bank.

For Al Barid Bank, the initiative supports its mission to make financial services accessible to a wider population. For MaroApp, it reflects a commitment to supporting its workforce and recognizing the contribution of its employees and independent workers.

Making banking more accessible

“Financial inclusion is an essential driver of autonomy and social progress. Through this partnership, Al Barid Bank reaffirms its commitment to making banking services more accessible and supporting self-employed workers as they strengthen their financial independence and integrate into the formal economy,” said Bahia Bennis, head of marketing and external communications at Al Barid Bank Group.

Sofia Amrani, deputy CEO of MaroApp, said delivery workers, order pickers and other members of the company’s workforce contribute every day to the quality of service it provides to clients and partners. Many independent workers, she added, play an essential role in the company’s operating model.

“Our responsibility goes beyond offering them work opportunities. It also means working with committed partners to help them access services that can strengthen their financial independence. This agreement is a concrete step in that direction,” Amrani said.

The two partners said they aim to make financial inclusion a driver of individual and collective progress and contribute to a more inclusive economy.
