The Casablanca Stock Exchange will be back in business on Friday after a technical glitch brought trading to a halt a day earlier, with the bourse saying repairs and testing have cleared its systems for a restart.
Trading will resume on the usual schedule on Sept 18, according to a statement issued by the exchange on Friday.
The restart comes after Thursday morning’s technical failure forced the bourse to suspend trading and sent its teams scrambling to identify the problem. At the time, the exchange described the halt as temporary but gave no indication of when dealing could resume.
A day later, it says the necessary fixes are in place.

Tests carried out after the corrective work showed that trading could safely restart, the bourse said, while adding that the platform would remain under closer technical watch throughout Friday’s session.
What caused the breakdown remains unclear. The exchange did not identify the source of the fault in its latest statement, nor did it spell out the measures taken to fix it.
