The refurbishment is intended to bring the aircraft’s cabin standards in line with those of more recently acquired planes in the national carrier’s fleet.
Naoual Ait Hammou, director of Royal Air Maroc’s Air Operations division, said the upgrade comes as the airline’s fleet has reached 71 aircraft. One of the objectives is to harmonize cabin standards across the fleet, particularly with newer aircraft, she explained.
The seven Boeing 787-8s are long-haul aircraft capable of operating routes to destinations as far as Beijing.
The refurbishment will initially focus on the seats, which will be replaced with new-generation models offering passengers more space. The in-flight entertainment system will also be replaced as part of the upgrade.
Ait Hammou said the renovated cabins will feature “international specifications” designed to meet passengers’ comfort requirements.
The upgrade is particularly relevant to long-haul flights, where comfort and onboard amenities are more important because of the length of the journeys.

The refurbishment is therefore expected to bring the interiors of the seven Boeing 787-8s in line with the standards of newer aircraft in Royal Air Maroc’s fleet.
The cabin renovation will also coincide with the activation of Starlink internet services on the aircraft concerned.
“All of this will coincide with the activation of Starlink internet services,” Ait Hammou said.
Royal Air Maroc currently operates 13 Dreamliners in total, comprising seven Boeing 787-8s and six Boeing 787-9s.
