The latest delivery brings the number of 737 MAX 8s operated by the national carrier to 18, as Royal Air Maroc continues to expand its fleet ahead of a much larger renewal and expansion program.

Royal Air Maroc expanded its fleet by 19.3% over the past year, the fastest growth among Africa’s five largest carriers, while Ethiopian Airlines remains far ahead with 163 aircraft. The expansion comes as African airlines prepare for rising passenger demand and a more competitive continental aviation market.

Emirates plans to increase its Dubai-Casablanca service from one to two daily flights starting Feb. 1, 2027. According to aviation schedule specialist AeroRoutes, a Boeing 777-200LR will join the Airbus A380 already serving the route, although the additional flights are not yet open for booking.
