Following discussions covering the various aspects of bilateral cooperation, Inspector General Mohammed Berrid and General Dagvin Anderson, Commander of U.S. AFRICOM, signed a memorandum of understanding between the Royal Armed Forces and their U.S. counterparts establishing a joint multidomain training and experimentation center in Morocco to serve the African continent, according to a statement from the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces.
The establishment of the center further strengthens the Kingdom of Morocco’s leadership in regional security and will enhance the operational readiness and interoperability of the Royal Armed Forces and their U.S. counterparts, the statement said.

The new center of excellence will also serve as a leading training and experimentation hub for African partner countries while fostering defense innovation to address common threats and ensure regional stability.
The memorandum of understanding falls within the framework of the 2026-2036 Defense Cooperation Roadmap, signed in Washington on April 16, 2026, by the Kingdom of Morocco and the United States of America.
It reaffirms the continuity of the historic ties between the armed forces of the two countries, built on mutual trust and a shared commitment to a strategic partnership aimed at addressing common threats, the statement concluded.
