FBI Deputy Director Christopher Raia visited the International Police Cooperation Center (IPCC) on Wednesday, where representatives of law enforcement and security agencies from countries participating in the 2026 FIFA World Cup are working together.
The visit formed part of the high-level security framework established for the tournament. During his visit, the senior U.S. official held a dedicated meeting with representatives of Morocco’s General Directorate of National Security and General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance (DGSN-DGST).
Raia thanked the Moroccan delegation for its role in helping secure the tournament and for its contribution throughout all stages of the competition. He said the FBI views Morocco as a trusted partner with expertise and credibility that are recognized internationally.
The FBI deputy director also addressed representatives of foreign security services stationed at the IPCC, stressing the importance of international partnerships and multilateral intelligence-sharing in ensuring the security of the World Cup, which is being co-hosted by the United States.
He also highlighted the scale of the challenge posed by securing 78 matches over nearly two weeks, saying such an undertaking would be impossible without close international cooperation.
Raia noted that U.S. authorities have seen an increase in the number of threats thwarted on American soil, attributing that progress to the accuracy of intelligence shared by partner countries and their continued support.
