Morocco is taking part in Geneva AI Governance Week, a series of United Nations events running from July 6 to 10 that focus on international rules, standards and policies for artificial intelligence. The programme includes the inaugural Global Dialogue on AI Governance, the WSIS Forum 2026 and the AI for Good Global Summit.
On Monday, July 6, Minister Delegate for Digital Transition and Administration Reform Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni attended the opening of the first Global Dialogue on AI Governance at Geneva’s Palexpo convention centre. She was joined by Morocco’s Permanent Representatives to the UN in Geneva and New York, Omar Zniber and Omar Hilale.
The two-day Global Dialogue, which concludes on Tuesday, examines the social, economic, ethical and technical impact of AI, reducing digital divides, AI safety and interoperability, and the protection of human rights through transparency, accountability and human oversight. The meeting will also present the first report of the Independent International Scientific Panel on AI.
From July 6 to 10, the WSIS Forum will discuss digital governance, cybersecurity, data protection, AI policy, digital infrastructure and online safety. The AI for Good Global Summit, which opens on Tuesday, will focus on AI standards, healthcare, education, employment, infrastructure, food systems and other applications of artificial intelligence for sustainable development.
Parliamentary sessions scheduled during the week will examine legislative oversight of AI, digital governance and the role of parliaments in developing national AI strategies and ensuring public accountability.
