Held under the King’s High Patronage, the “Manarat Assalam” (Lighthouse of Peace) program is taking place from Aug. 12 to 26 and brings together children aged 11 to 14 from the Holy City of Al-Quds, accompanied by five supervisors.

The program includes educational trips, artistic competitions, sports activities and cultural visits, as well as exchanges with Moroccan children. It also featured the second session of the Summer School in Skhirat.

During the reception, Princess Lalla Meryem was greeted by Mohamed Salem Echarkaoui, managing director of the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency, along with the participating children and their supervisors.

The Princess then posed for a commemorative photograph before presiding over a reception hosted by King Mohammed VI in honor of the Al-Quds children. The children also presented her with commemorative gifts.

Echarkaoui presented Princess Lalla Meryem with a commemorative book documenting the 17 editions of the summer camps organized by the agency since 2008.

According to the agency, the program has benefited 850 children from different neighborhoods of Al-Quds, accompanied by 85 supervisors. The visits have allowed participants to discover different regions of Morocco and experience the solidarity shown by Moroccans toward the Palestinian people.

The initiative is part of the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency’s broader activities supporting the Holy City and its inhabitants, particularly women, children and people facing difficult circumstances.
