Baraka made the announcement at the close of a speech before members of Istiqlal’s National Council in Salé, drawing loud applause and cheers from the audience.
The announcement came as Istiqlal’s National Council met to assess the results of the September 23 legislative elections and determine the party’s position on joining the next government.
The PAM’s National Council was also meeting Saturday morning in Skhirat. The party, which came first in the September 23 election, has begun consultations with the other parties represented in Parliament on forming the next government.

An RNI delegation led by Mohamed Chouki met with PAM leaders on September 30 as part of those initial consultations.
The RNI had said it was ready to join the next government, but left the final decision to its own National Council, which was also meeting Saturday.
For Istiqlal, Baraka stressed that any decision on joining the government must be taken by the party’s own governing bodies. The party’s National Council is expected to decide on the issue after reviewing the election results.
