Upon disembarking at Rabat-Salé Airport, Rachel Ruto was welcomed by Princess Lalla Asmaa.
After reviewing a detachment of the Auxiliary Forces that performed the honors, Princess Lalla Asmaa and Kenya’s First Lady were greeted by Wali of the Rabat-Salé-Kenitra region and Governor of Rabat Prefecture Mohamed Yacoubi; President of Rabat-Salé-Kenitra region Rachid El Abdi, and Governor of Salé Prefecture Omar Touimi.
Princess Lalla Asmaa and Rachel Ruto were also greeted by President of the Salé Communal Council Omar Sentissi; Ambassador and Director General of the Moroccan Agency for International Cooperation Mohamed Methqal; and Delegate President of the Lalla Asmaa Foundation Karim Essakalli.
Subsequently, Princess Lalla Asmaa was greeted by Kenya’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Morocco Jessica Gakinya, members of the Kenyan Embassy, as well as members of the delegation accompanying the First Lady.
Rachel Ruto was then invited to the traditional welcoming ceremony of offering milk and dates.
Following a brief stop at the airport’s Royal Lounge, the motorcade carrying Princess Lalla Asmaa and the First Lady of the Republic of Kenya proceeded to the residence of Rachel Ruto.
