The King to chair Friday opening of parliament’s autumn session

King Mohammed VI will chair on Friday the opening of the first session of the first legislative year of the 12th Legislature, the Ministry of the Royal Household, Protocol and Chancellery said in a statement. Here follows the translation:

“The Ministry of the Royal Household, Protocol and Chancellery announces that His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, will chair tomorrow, Friday, 27 Rabii II 1448 AH, corresponding to October 9, 2026, the opening of the first session of the first legislative year of the 12th Legislature at Parliament.

On this occasion, His Majesty the King, may God glorify Him, will deliver a Speech before the members of both Houses of Parliament, namely the House of Representatives and the House of Councillors.

The Royal Speech will be broadcast live on radio and television starting at 3:45 p.m."
