The accident occurred when a van carrying the group of farm workers veered off the road near Montesecco and overturned, according to Morocco’s Consulate General in Naples.
One of the workers died at the scene, while the others sustained injuries, with one in very serious condition, the consulate said.
According to local authorities, the seriously injured worker, who suffered multiple severe injuries, was airlifted to a hospital. Three other passengers from the crashed vehicle were taken by ambulance to the emergency department.
The group of workers was returning to the Foggia area after a day of work in the countryside of the neighboring Molise region, the sources added.
