The Ministry of National Territory Planning, Urban Planning, Housing and City Policy launched the Urban Planning and Housing Caravan in Tangier on Saturday, August 8, an initiative aimed at providing services to Moroccans living abroad.

According to a ministry statement, the caravan aligns with the Royal Instructions of King Mohammed VI, which emphasize giving particular attention to Moroccans residing abroad, responding to their aspirations and expectations, continuously improving the quality of services provided to them, and bringing public administration closer to citizens.

It is one of the main outreach initiatives targeting the Moroccan diaspora as part of a national campaign launched under the theme “Urban Planning and Housing at the Service of Moroccans Living Abroad.” Minister of National Territory Planning, Urban Planning, Housing and City Policy Fatima Ezzahra El Mansouri initiated the campaign through a ministerial circular aimed at mobilizing all components of the ministry, including the Al Omrane Group, urban agencies, and regional and provincial directorates.

The Urban Planning and Housing Caravan will function as a fully equipped mobile agency, traveling to several cities across Morocco, including Oujda, Meknes, Errachidia, Beni Mellal, Marrakech, Agadir, Laayoune, Casablanca, and Rabat. Its purpose is to bring reception, information, guidance, and support services closer to citizens, particularly Moroccans residing abroad, the ministry stated.

The caravan will offer an integrated reception and advisory space where visitors can directly interact with officials from the Al Omrane Group, ministry representatives, and urban agency officials. It will also allow visitors to learn about various real estate offers, investment opportunities, and public sector programs, including the direct housing assistance program, Daam Sakane.

This initiative is part of a broader outreach approach implemented under the national campaign “Urban Planning and Housing at the Service of Moroccans Living Abroad,” the ministry noted. It complements other measures introduced by the ministry, such as reception and support points at ports, airports, and high-speed train stations, open days at urban agencies and Al Omrane Group companies, extended duty hours outside regular administrative hours, and information, guidance, and support services provided by the ministry’s various departments and agencies.

Alongside the caravan, the Al Omrane Group is making its digital platform, www.alomrane.gov.ma, available to citizens, providing access to its real estate offers and services. The group has also established a dedicated number, 0801001516, to offer continuous support and respond quickly to inquiries and requests from the Moroccan diaspora.

Through this nationwide mobilization, the Ministry of National Territory Planning, Urban Planning, Housing and City Policy reaffirmed its commitment to implementing the Royal Instructions in favor of Moroccans living abroad, alongside Operation Marhaba. The initiative seeks to provide local services, simplify procedures, and facilitate access to urban planning, housing, and investment programs, the ministry said.

The national campaign and its various initiatives also reflect the ministry’s efforts to strengthen the ties between Moroccans living abroad and their homeland and respond effectively to their aspirations and expectations.
