Mohammed V University in Rabat grandly celebrated 500 graduates from various fields for the 2025-2026 academic year.
The ceremony was co-chaired by Azzedine El Midaoui, Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation, and Mohamed Rhachi, President of UM5. It was attended by academics, faculty members, university officials, and students from a wide range of disciplines.
During the event, the minister, who previously served as president of Ibn Tofail University in Kenitra, commended the efforts of students and higher education institutions in promoting knowledge, transferring expertise, and supporting skills development.
In his address, the UM5 President noted that the university traditionally holds this annual event to honor its graduates. He stated, « This tradition has made Mohammed V University an institution that gives the recognition and importance they deserve to the values of hard work, effort, and excellence, in a way that reflects what the university and all those involved—especially its students and graduates—deserve. »
Mohamed Rhachi added that the university should take pride in these successive graduating classes, which, he said, reflect both the institution’s vitality and its ability to keep pace with the country’s transformations.
The UM5 president also thanked « all faculty members, administrative staff, and partners who spare no effort and devote all they have » to serving the university, its students, and its academic mission.
He further placed these achievements within the framework of the university’s 2024-2028 development plan, which aligns with the country’s broader priorities under the leadership of King Mohammed VI.
According to Rhachi, Moroccan universities are « very much present, both through their influence and their weight. » Their students and graduates, he stressed, are called upon to serve the nation by helping raise standards and meet the country’s economic, social, and environmental challenges.
Through this ceremony, Mohammed V University sought to celebrate more than a new graduating class; it also reaffirmed its role in developing talent, promoting excellence, and supporting the country’s major national priorities.
