Just steps from Salé Marina, several neighborhood sports fields have become a popular destination for young athletes, many of whom train under the supervision of coaches.

The well-maintained facilities are consistently busy. To use them, players generally have to book in advance before playing a match. The reservation system helps manage demand and ensures the facilities are used regularly.

Most of the facilities were developed through partnerships between the Rabat regional authorities and several municipalities. They form part of a broader effort to expand public spaces, promote community sports, and improve residents’ quality of life.

Their location in Salé adds value to the surrounding green spaces and to the Bouregreg Valley as a whole. With the marina nearby, landscaped areas, and accessible sports facilities, the site attracts not only young athletes but also families and visitors out for a walk.

Speaking on site, one visitor said they were impressed by the area and expressed hope that other regions would adopt a similar model by developing comparable neighborhood sports facilities.

In Salé, these neighborhood sports fields highlight the role of sports infrastructure in bringing urban public spaces to life. By providing young people with a supervised, accessible, and green environment, they help make the Bouregreg Valley a place for recreation, sports, and relaxation.
