Dutch club Ajax Amsterdam has expressed interest in signing young Moroccan international Ilyas Houira, a midfielder with Danish side FC Copenhagen who is also being monitored by several major European clubs, according to Dutch outlet VoetbalPrimeur.

The outlet reports that Houira, 15, is considered one of Denmark’s most promising young talents, attracting interest from several European clubs that have sent representatives to Denmark to watch him closely.

The Moroccan midfielder moved from Aarhus to FC Copenhagen at the start of this year, signing a contract that runs until the summer of 2029.

According to the specialist outlet, the clubs interested in Houira include English sides Manchester City, Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea, Germany’s Borussia Dortmund and Ajax, as well as other clubs from France and Spain.

VoetbalPrimeur noted that Ajax’s interest in the Moroccan is not new, with the Dutch club having followed him for some time, alongside Manchester City, Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund.

Despite the interest, FC Copenhagen succeeded in signing Houira at the start of the year, while European clubs have continued to monitor him more closely since his move to the Danish club, according to the same source.

Houira was recently called up to Morocco’s U17 national team after making his first international appearances with the U16 national team last summer.
